Yurienaka niukieya —The voice of the earth— is a powerful Huichol sculpture representing the head of a hippopotamus, completely covered in hand-applied beads.

Its symbolic roar evokes the primal energy that connects humankind to the natural elements. Geometric and floral patterns, characteristic of Wixárika art, flow across the surface in violet and lilac tones, alluding to spirituality and the mystery of the inner world.

This work is an allegory of the power contained within nature, a reminder that all life vibrates with the same ancestral voice of the earth.

This piece sits perfectly on the wall, creating a visual impact that does not go unnoticed. It is a unique and exclusive collectible piece, ideal for those who appreciate indigenous art and culture. By purchasing this sculpture, you are supporting the preservation of the Zapotec artisan tradition and its cultural legacy.

  • This piece travels in a professional packaging and ready to hang on the wall.

Huichol bead art is  a traditional Mexican art form where artisans cover three-dimensional objects, like masks and figurines, in intricate, vibrant designs made of tiny glass beads.

This meticulous process involves pressing the beads, which are often #11 size, into a base of wax or resin that is applied to the surface, and the symbols and patterns are derived from ancient Huichol culture and visions.

Made by families from diverse rural communities including the states of Jalisco, Nayarit, Chihuahua, and Oaxaca.

The central idea of this project consists of disseminating, commercializing and revaluing pieces of Mexican art, traditionally considered as "handicrafts"; in addition to showing that the realization of a piece and its mythical symbolism are intimately intricate with a social and cultural dimension, little known to the world.
